Covid-19: Home Learning

In response to the school closures the Cambridge Maths Hub is continuing to work to support teachers and pupils.

We have a small working group, co-ordinated by Mark Dawes, that is collating materials in response to the two blog posts by our Maths Hub Lead, Cordelia Myers.

The first post lays out some concerns about potential issues with assigning tasks to pupils.

The second post gives the background to our response as a Hub.

As of mid-April we have begun to put materials here on our website and this bank of resources will continue to grow while schools are closed.

On the primary pages we have tried to give advice to parents as to tasks to use, the equipment that is required and, for some of the resources, the way they can be introduced and used.

On the secondary pages the tasks could be carried out by parents and their children together, or by the pupil on their own (or with friends … remotely, of course!).

In all cases, teachers may want to suggest particular activities as part of the work they are suggesting is carried out each week, or could pass on the link to parents.

If you have tasks you would like to suggest for inclusion in this growing set of resources then please use the primary form or the secondary form.

Thank you to the members of the working group for their work on this project: Katie, Livia, Beth, Catriona and Mark.
